Elite women jumpers and home hopes

The main favourite of the women’s competition is Jamaica’s Lamara Distin with a personal best of 200 cm. She finished 5th at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, won the 22nd Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and is a multiple NCAA champion. Last year’s Beskydská laťka winner, Greece’s Tatiana Gusin, with a personal best of 194 cm, will also go for the win. She was 7th at last year’s World Indoor Championships in Glasgow and won the Balkan Championships. Home fans will be cheering on Michaela Hrubá, who earned a place at the Paris Olympics last year. The world junior champion and multiple Czech champion with a personal best of 195 cm will surely be a strong rival for the rest of the field.
