Olympic medallists, records and an electric atmosphere on February 10 in the Třinec arena
Třinec is getting ready for an athletics celebration that high jump fans simply can’t miss. On Tuesday, February 10, 2026, the world’s high jump elite will fill the Werk Arena for the prestigious Beskydská laťka meeting. The competition is part of the World Athletics Indoor Tour in the Silver category, which guarantees the participation of the absolute world elite. Spectators can look forward to plenty of emotion, tension and performances at the limit of human ability.
The women’s competition promises a duel Třinec hasn’t seen in a long time. The biggest attraction and main star will be Australian icon Eleanor Patterson – world champion and Olympic medallist. This time, however, the road to victory leads through exceptionally strong competition. Patterson will face tough opposition above all from Germany’s Imke Onnen, talented Cypriot Elena Kulichenko and reigning world silver medallist Maryia Zhodzik. All of these athletes have already shown that they can fly incredibly high, so spectators can look forward to attacks on the two-metre mark.
The men’s competition promises an even bigger show, and this year it relies on home heroes. The biggest star and crowd favourite will be Czech phenomenon Jan Štefela. The Olympic finalist returns to Třinec in the form of his life, ready to attack his personal best and the top places in a packed Werk Arena.
Štefela won’t have it easy, though. His main challenger will be European indoor champion Oleh Doroshchuk from Ukraine, and the popular American Olympic silver medallist Shelby McEwen. The battle for victory promises drama until the very last jump, driven by the electrifying atmosphere typical of the Třinec crowd.
The programme is completed by morning competitions for youth categories and school teams, showcasing young talent. Other youth categories also get their chance at supporting events in the days before. Beskydská laťka will once again become the high jump centre of Central Europe and confirm its reputation as one of the most attractive indoor meetings in the world.
