The 32nd edition is over!

Třinec has long suited Honza Štefela, and this year’s Beskydská laťka confirmed it again. Although he had won here for the past two years, the hat-trick escaped him this time. As usual, he started his season right here, and from the first jumps it was clear he was in form. He cleared the opening height of 217 cm with ease and went over 221 and 225 centimetres without hesitation, which kept him in the lead.

The decisive moment came at 228 cm. While Poland’s Mateusz Kołodziejski cleared this height on his second attempt, Štefela couldn’t find the answer. Victory went to Poland, with Kołodziejski taking first place with 228 cm. Mexico’s Erick Portillo finished third with 225 cm.

The women’s competition was dominated by Australia’s Eleanor Patterson, who was in control from the start. She only entered the competition after some rivals, including Klára Krejčiříková, had already been eliminated. Patterson cleared one height after another without hesitation and secured victory with 197 cm. She then tried two metres but didn’t make it this time. Even so, she followed up her win in Hustopeče with another triumph at a Czech meeting.

Second place went to Jamaica’s Lamara Distin, who improved significantly on last year with 194 cm. Third place went to Poland’s Żodzik, who beat Cyprus’s Elena Kulichenko on countback – both cleared 191 cm. The most successful home athlete was Justýna Brýdlová, who not only won the B competition but also improved her personal best to 183 cm.
